Captains Report – Bankstown 2018
A perfect winters day was on show for the master builders golf club to return to Bankstown. The course had a brown look about the fairways, although there was still plenty of grass and preferred lies were not necessary.
The greens were in great shape, both true and quick, and a real test.
The club elected to put us off a shortened course which had us teeing off next to the red markers most of the day.
Plenty of run on the winter fairways, saw many players roll into the trees, of which there are many, and that generally cost an extra shot. Of the field of 23 players only 5 played to there handicap or better, which was a little surprising.
The game was followed by a relaxing catch up and a BBQ dinner which was enjoyed by all. Over dinner our secretary, Graeme Degnan, impressed upon everyone what a clever bloke Garry Reid was due to his quick response and online payment once the game invitation was emailed out. It would make like easier for the committee if we could all be a little more like Gary.
Welcome to two more new members, Ben Alford and Steve Mitchell, both from the building related finance industry. We hope they enjoyed their first game with us.
