It has been a couple of years since we last went ‘round at Bonnie Doon due to the extensive course renovations, and it was great to be back to experience what they have been up to.

I believe they have transformed a good golf course into a great golf course with clever bunkering, good use of the undulating terrain and some very, very lumpy greens.

We were lucky with a clear Sydney winters day with the westerly wind building to solid gale by mid-afternoon which tormented most of the field of 27 players with only three golfers playing to their handicap or better.

Once again it was great to see sponsors, members and visitors in attendance and although the course played hard, all seemed happy to be there.

After the game, we were treated to a great buffet dinner and the club hospitality was first class.
