Captain’s Report – Stonecutters Ridge
After the last few scheduled games being cancelled due to the fickle Sydney weather, it was great to see the sunshine and a dry track for our first visit to Stonecutters Ridge.
A good size field of 41 players assembled to try their best on the Greg Norman designed course and all was set for a good day. Almost half the field were visitors, which was great to see and we hope to see many return on a regular basis.
Most players agreed this is one really good golf course with generous run on the fairways which brought the extensive fairway bunkering into play. Coupled with the water hazards along most of the holes and a first cut rough that swallowed golf balls it certainly created a challenge. The greens were quick and true with enough undulations to command respect. All this combined to make scoring difficult with only three golfers playing to their handicap or better. After the game the group was treated to a hearty buffet dinner and a c hance for members and guests to catch up after several months without master builders golf.
