Firstly, I am glad to be back on deck and I’m pleased to report a squad of 24 players were treated to perfect weather for golf at this great St Michael’s layout.

It is always a pleasure to take in the view and the pleasant hospitality of the club and staff. The course was generally in great condition and the greens, although recently renovated were receptive to pitch shots and very true.

The committee are pleased to welcome new members, Peter Lyras ( Degnan Constructions), Steve Facer (Chess Engineering), Luke Heston (MBA Insurance) and Andrew Durante (Durante Building). We hope to see them all on a regular basis. The field also included six visitors and I hope you had an enjoyable day and I look forward to seeing you at future games.

The scores were better than we usually see at this course and I put this down to the very gentle breeze and on most holes we were off forward tees. The average score was 32 points. Golf was followed by a great dinner and enjoyed by all.

Apologies from the scorers to Lyn Astley who shot the best score of the day, 37 points, only to have it recorded as 27 points. A prize voucher for this effort is on its way!
