This is the most prestigious game in our Golfing Calendar and also the most expensive, but it always attracts a crowd.

A Field of 44 Golfers assembled at the NSW Course on a humid, but almost windless February day, and as usual the view from the Clubhouse was Sydney’s version of Golfing Utopia.  Great to see new members, visitors, and a group from Newcastle joining the Sydney Boys for our first game of the year.

The course was in great nick, as we have come to expect with the state of the art practice facility and cart garage now all complete.

The Greens were not lightening fast, but quick enough and as true as ever while the fairways are like a fine green carpet.  Off the Fairway was definitely not the place to be with a killer first cut of rough and of course the tea tree scrub. Severe punishment was dished out to those not hitting straight with many lot balls resulting.

The scoring was pretty good probably due to the lack of wind, with just over half the field scoring 30 point or more and 9 players playing to their handicap or better.

The game was followed by a catch up in the bar, and a quality buffet meal.
