Captains Report – St Michaels 2018
Our return to St Michaels was subject to early spring overcast weather with the possibility of some showers.
The field of 31 golfers prepared for the new shot gun start, with only a gentle breeze off the ocean.
Given the potential for rain we were lucky to only get one shower early in the round, then the clouds gradually disappeared to end up a pretty good day for golf.
The course was in great condition, as always, with the greens a touch slow after being renovated a couple of weeks ago. The white course made use of the forward tees making scoring a little easier, with six players shooting their handicap or better.
Adding to the interest was the inclusion of the pink ball comp, with eight balls in play at the start and only three returning. Well done to the group of Tim Hooper, Rowan Hooper, Peter Shield and Neil Singh coming back with 37 pink ball points.
As always, the club provided an excellent buffet, and an enjoyable day was had by all.
