Captain’s Report – St Michaels Golf Club 6th of Sept 2023
The field of 24 golfers arrived at the picturesque St Michaels on a clear and fine spring day.
The breeze was just becoming evident at our 12.-30 tee time , but the North easter turned into consistent and solid breeze as the afternoon progressed and was more than enough to effect the flight of the golf ball.
The course is still under the effect of the rebuild which has been happening for the past couple of years. We played 16 holes which were all in great condition.
As usual the greens were true and quick, and any ball taken by the wind into the thick scrub was generally lost.
Great to see Rod and Lynn back on the course after recovering from injury. They are ready to head to Geelong with this year’s Hornibrook team. Thanks to Rod for donating a dozen balls for prizes.
The scores were kept low by the wind with only one player shooting 36 points, with 29 points being the average score.
Another good day at a great golf course finished off by a delicious buffet dinner .
Congratulations to the following winners:
Individual winner
Paul Evans (22) 36 points

Lynn Astley (27) 34 points
